Notes From The Team At Naiise.

The new year brings not only new resolutions, but also fresh beginnings. For many, this lies outside of our little island and holds a brand new world of adventures ahead.

We invited lifestyle blogger Jemma Wei, who's abroad in Stuttgart on an exchange semester, to curate a collection of items to remember home by and double up as gifts for friends and family dearly missed.

We also took the chance to raid Jemma's beautiful and youthful mind for her thoughts on Singapore's art and design scene, and her favourite designers.

A new year brings new beginnings. And with each new year, we start out rejuvenated, renewed and full of ideas. Enthusiastically, we look towards being better than we were before. 

However, following up on our resolutions can be tough, easily forgotten or procrastinated, even demoralising at times. At Naiise, we believe in pushing through our goals with the help of things around us. 

Inspirations comes not only from within but from all that surround us in our everyday lives. Here are 10 ways (and things) we believe can help better our everyday lives, and accomplish what we set out to do this year.

The start of the new year is the most universal holiday shared by everyone. While it may mean slightly different things to different people, the underlying message is almost always the same: it's a brand new year, a brand new start - let's do everything we can this year that we didn't manage in the last. Let's make the year count!

To usher in the new year, Naiise invited the three fun, irreverent and self-described as 'irregular' sisters behind the lifestyle blog Weekend Cheoks to curate their top 10 items for the new year according to their unique personalities. 

Say farewell to emerald green, and hello to Radiant Orchid, Pantone's colour of the year for 2014. Pantone, the world's authority on colour, describes this shade as "an enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones" that "inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health."

Like every year, you can expect to see Pantone's colour of the year on practically every item on runways and store shelves, so we invited Lenne Chai, who runs fashion and photography website Aetienne.net, to curate a selection of her favourite purple-inspired items on Naiise for your homes and wardrobe. 

We also spoke to Lenne and picked her beautiful, technicolored mind on how she will be incorporate Radiant Orchid into her work (and even hair!) this coming year..

There's nothing like year-end holidays (plus more at the start of the new year) to make the wanderlust bug bite, real hard. With Christmas around the corner, we invited Cheryl, the tiny lady with a voracious appetite for life who shares her gourmet and travel escapades on the blog Ms. Skinnyfat to curate her top gift picks for wanderlusters.

On the agenda from now through NYE: parties, parties and more parties. Before you bring another bottle of wine, consider thanking your host with something they'll remember and find useful in the year ahead. 

So we invited the immaculate and divine Ashley from Lavishley to curate a selection of gifts that your hosts will rave over. Known for throwing amazing dinner parties with aplomb (yes, we've stalked those on Instagram), Ashley picks out cool, nifty gifts that keep giving, and also shares her thoughts on what makes a party really rock.
