Title of Program: New Innovation Through Crowdfunding with We The People
1. Knowledge sharing about crowdfunding - 30 mins
There are 3 types of crowdfunding; rewards-based, equity-based and debt-based. The talk will focus only on rewards-based, i.e the usual Kickstarter/Indiegogo crowdfunding of a product. This will focus on why people choose to crowdfund to start a new brand or product rather than going the traditional way. Participants will understand how crowdfunding can help brands grow internationally within a short span of time without much initial fixed cost or risk.
- Successful Singapore Campaigns
There will be a visual showcase of a few brands from Singapore that were successfully funded on Kickstarter. We the People will be bringing some products and share the storytelling & background of these creators, as well as why and how the products were created. Be wow-ed by some of these creations!
2. Creative Brainstorming Session of Ideas - 30 mins
Participants will be asked to come up with the ideal or desired product that they always had in mind. They will develop and analyze whether it is suitable or relevant to today's market.
- Roadmap to your first crowdfunding campaign
Participants will be guided to plan a campaign at a very basic level. Topics covered are manufacturing/sourcing, logistics, marketing and fulfillment. These topics will be further explored and discussed how they are able to fulfill these requirements.
3. Q&A Session about common crowdfunding issues - 30 mins
Many people know what crowdfunding is but they don't exactly know what to go about doing a campaign or what kind of benefits it will bring to new brand owners or creators. This Q&A will address your queries and how creators can leverage on starting a brand without much fix cost or risk. The speakers have done multiple campaigns, and have conducted multiple crowdfunding course and events in Singapore, Malaysia and multiple events in the United States.
