Chocolate and vanilla have been blended since prehistory in the Americas. Both these flavourful wonder foods emerged from the same forests.
Vanilla and cocoa are so inter-twined geographically, historically and culturally that it is not a real surprise that these flavours enhance each other so well. This ethically sourced Tahitian vanilla bean is fresh and plump. When packed with the African Red drinking chocolate it slowly dries and infuses, steeping its fantastic aroma and flavour throughout this great Ghana cocoa. Vanilla acts like nature’s flavour enchanter, brightening and intensifying the chocolate experience. To further sweeten the deal after the drinking chocolate is long gone, the Vanilla Bean can still be used to create delicious deserts and treats. A unique food product that keeps on giving.
You might be familiar with this taste if you've patronised cafes such as Chye Seng Huat Hardware, Carpenter and Cook, Pacamara Coffee Roasters, Percolate Coffee, Loysel's Toy, Coast and Company, and Grain Traders, all of whom use Grounded Pleasures drinking chocolate.
Serving suggestion: Use between 15-20g per cup of drinking chocolate (3-4 teaspoons). Because it is a pure, intense, complex, origin cocoa with no fillers (which are a feature of many other drinking chocolates), you will find that you'd have to use less African Red cocoa for a better, more intense hot chocolate that what you might be accustomed to.
Gluten free, dairy free, nut free, GMO free & ethically sourced.
Grounded Pleasures cocoa has a lovely chocolate flavour which evolves into delightful, complex, fruity characteristics that can be likened to dried muscatels or cherries. This is finished by a very pleasant, lingering aftertaste. They are constantly tasting, testing and evolving their recipe to keep making a better drinking chocolate.
Grounded Pleasures chocolate is ethically sourced direct from the growers for the individual flavour profiles. 99% plus of the worlds cocoa market is dominated by big cocoa multi-nationals who blend for a flavour profile rather than a region. Founder Craig McKenzie forms strong relationships with the growers and their region and makes a commitment to give at least 5% of the profits back to supporting community development. To that end they help support a hospital and a school in the village where the cocoa comes from...........................................................................................................
