Our recent pop-up store at People's Park Complex was a cosy and raw affair, crafted out of discarded baka wood, wood pallets (lots of them) and wine crates.We had lots of people coming in to ask us if they could buy the pallets and wine crates so we figured there's lots of interest in DIY-ing your own wood into something functional and trendy for your homes. For flood-prone areas, it is also a great way to keep things safe and dry.

We are no carpenters, hence we are in no good position to recommend which wood is best for table. But what we do know is that you should seek for clean pallets that have not been exposed to rain or disposed outdoors for prolonged period of time as there might be termites breeding in there.

For those that we have listed, chances are low if you want to get hold of pallets for free. However, you can always try walking around industrial areas and ask if they can have any to spare you. (p.s. That’s how we do it at Naiise for our pop-ups!)
